Fr. Grammond spent 35 years, as an ordained member of the priesthood, in the Archdiocese of Portland. In those 35 years, Fr. Grammond was assigned in some capacity to 9 different parishes. PD 0861.
Beginning in 2000, several dozen individuals brought claims against the Archdiocese of Portland for sexual abuse by Fr. Grammond dating back to the 1950’s.  Ample evidence exists that the Archbishops in Portland had decades of warnings about Fr. Grammond, and repeatedly transferred him in response to complaints.  See e.g., PD 1050, 1056, 0289.
